Day 22: A day in the life of a med student

Today's inane image of the day:

Back at it again with Netter's Atlas and my laptop. Oh, and why not throw in a game of Gin Rummy while we're at it?

Mike visited for a couple of days, then left again. As always, the visit was too short-lived and now I feel like a part of me is missing. We spent most of his visit doing what I always do - school, study, eat, exercise and sleep [admittedly, I got some shopping in, too].

Generally, my day runs something like this:

5:00AM - Wake up, pack lunch/snacks/gym clothes, do some QBank questions or look at notes
Sometime between 6:00AM-7:00AM - Drive to school [if I have time, I'll study before classes start]
8:00AM - Class
11:00AM - Gym + Lunch + Coffee
1:00PM - More class
Sometime between 3:00PM-5:00PM - Class ends, drive home
6:00PM - Eat dinner
7:00PM - Try to study or go to the gym if I didn't get to during lunch [usually exhausted by now]
Sometime between 9:00PM-11:00PM - Decide that studying is futile and talk to Mike before passing out

As you can see, most of my weekdays are filled with class and little dedicated study time. Weekends are wonderful gifts - they are the only time for uninterrupted slumber, errand-running and actual learning/studying. I wish I had used this 3-day weekend more efficiently... but, alas, I'll just have to make due.

What's your schedule like? Is there something you think I could do differently?

And thus, it begins: Day 22: A day in the life of a med student

Props for balancing medical school with raising your kids! [And for surviving on only ~6.5 hrs sleep...]
